Grey Magic II

In the past the projectors were CRT based whose actual base was Phosphor. The Black Level was deep and rich, colors were vibrant but the brightness of these projectors was very low so a screen with an extreme whiteness was required. The screens like Matte White helped in bringing more luminance in the picture. But as the technology has improved since then the new DLP and LCD projectors have more lumens, more contrast and somehow not a very decent Black Level, there is a need for a new kind of quality screen. The picture from these new and advanced projectors is bright and sharp and shows vibrant colors. Now with an addition of a screen with Gray surface the Black Level in the picture can be enhanced. The colors can be more saturated. This Black Level is the main ingredient for picture clarity, sharpness and above all brilliant colors. With its help we can see clearly the blacks within the blacks. A cloudy day looks clean, not hazy and dark. A sunny day looks sunny, not overcastted. In combination with the projector's contrast it gives a projector a sunny disposition. Get the picture?

Why research is  a great challenge?

Now a days Technology improving too fast. Hollywood’s making movies by using very high end cameras and High Definition film images equipments to get  maximum 3D effects higher and higher resolutions, deep colors to get maximum  impact on the audience. Reproducing all effects how director intended,  in home cinema video projection system is a really great challenge.
An ordinary gray fabric (mostly available with cheap gray projection screen) won't give the best results, because it increases black level but also  absorbs deep colors, what actually produces 3D effects and higher details.  Results are, you won't enjoy full quality of picture what director of  movie wants to show you. For example; 'Spiderman' Hollywood movie you can't feel the  depth of 3D effects what only possible with availability of dark shades deep  colors.

Recipe behind it

A special coating of Neutral Gray emulsion is applied with layers of chemical optically to the front surface of the screen. Each tiny dot corresponds to one pixel and reflects light more efficiently. The Neutral Gray emulsion gives the screen a gray appearance and Gain of 1.0. Also because of screen's flat surface it provides a wider viewing angle of 120 degrees. These screens are ideal for environments where ambient light is moderately controlled. The gray base material provides a good black level in the picture and maintains the peak white level as well. Black level is true black while all  colors are Deeps and naturals.

Performance

Difference in picture quality can be noticed right away if you are shooting an image from a Home Theater DLP or LCD projector on to Saaria Gray Magic II screen. To see a side by side comparison, for example, the Matte White screen will show nice colors, bright picture but the blacks in the picture will appear Gray. Now shoot the same scene on Gray Magic screen and the blacks looks true black. The reds looks real red and all other colors are also enhanced in their purity. The picture gives a film-like appearance.
